How to Apply

The Graphic Design program is a two-year degree that starts every Fall Quarter only.
Here are two options to get you started.

Option 2: I’m ready to apply (continue to the steps below)

Step 1

Answer 5 Questions

Admission requires answering 5 questions (see questions below). This will help faculty get to know and understand our incoming students.

  • Questions: 1. What is your name? 2. Why are you interested in the Graphic Design program? 3. How are you creative? Please describe your creative background. 4. What else should we know about you? 5. How did you learn about the program?

  • Submit your answers to: design.central@seattlecolleges.edu

    We will notify you when we receive your email. We will also notify you of your acceptance to the program within four weeks of submission.

Step 2

Apply to Seattle Central College

Once you've been accepted.
Complete the Seattle Central Application.
Watch for your ctcLink ID number in your admissions email.
Use this ID to activate your student account through the ctcLink Gateway.

Step 3

Check Academic Requirements

You must be eligible for:
English 101 (College Composition)
Math 081 (Pre-Algebra)

You can show this through placement testing or by submitting transcripts.

Step 4

Meet with an Advisor

Email Nicholas Kaatz (Nicholas.Kaatz@seattlecolleges.edu) with your ctcLink ID to set up your program file.

Step 5 (Optional)

Attend an Open House

We strongly recommend attending an Open House about this program at your earliest convenience. Open House is scheduled at the beginning of each quarter from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on the fifth floor of the main building. 1701 Broadway, Seattle. You may drop in anytime, and no RSVP is required.

Enrollment

Students on the Approved List will be contacted by email.
Enrollment is offered in the order names were added. If the program is full, you may choose to:

  • Remain available for late openings
  • Defer to the following year (one-time option).

You are responsible for informing us if your e-mail information changes. Please notify the Division Office directly by e-mail.
